The 2026 Subaru Series.Yelllow special edition models are exciting versions of two of the most popular cars from the brand, and they only come one way.
Subaru is dropping something special for enthusiasts in 2026 with the limited-edition Series.Yellow trim for both the BRZ and WRX. These eye-catching models feature striking Sunrise Yellow paint, yellow accent stitching, and stick to manual transmissions only. With just 350 units planned for each model, these special editions are built for drivers who want something truly unique on the road.
Subaru performance with a limited twist
It’s a twist of lemon for your Subaru sports cars with these new special edition models. The Subaru BRZ and WRX models will each have special edition versions that are limited to small production numbers and provide an excellent look and feel that should energize you and provide a cheerful quality to these cars. The Sunrise Yellow Subaru models will stand out on the road or track, blazing a path that looks like sun rays tracking the lines and grooves while showing off with impressive performance.
The tS trim representation
The limited edition Subaru models for 2026 will be based on their respective tS trims. This means that you can have the 2026 Subaru Series.Yellow edition cars, but you have to drive a manual transmission version of either the BRZ or WRX. This means you’ve either got to already know how to shift gears or quickly learn to do so. Thankfully, this isn’t a lost skill yet, and many sports car enthusiasts know how to shift gears and can enjoy these rare Subaru models that will be limited to only 350 units each.
Has Subaru gone yellow before?
Sunrise Yellow paint is not new for Subaru. Despite these two Subaru collector cars being the first of their models to wear the color, the brand has done this before. In 2015, the Subaru XV Crosstrek Special Edition and the Japan-only BRZ STI Sport and WRX STI S207 models all wore the bright, sunshine color. Yellow is a cheerful color that should energize and excite drivers, which the BRZ and WRX are certainly made to do, especially in the tS trim.
Yellow going inside
When you open the doors to either of the 2026 Subaru Series.Yellow special edition cars, you’ll find yellow accenting the cabin. The WRX comes with Recaro performance seats with yellow contrast stitching and yellow accents in the perforations. The BRZ has a similar approach with black upholstery and contrasting yellow stitching for the seats, steering wheel, shifter, and parking brake. This is much better than what automakers did in the 1950’s when the interior of the car would completely match the exterior; that would be a lot of yellow, as it was for many cars and their colors during the middle of the previous century.
Performance numbers matter
Are these new yellow cars still exciting and fun? Since both are offered in the tS trims with manual transmissions, that should be an affirmative answer. The BRZ has 228 horsepower coming out of the naturally aspirated 2.4-liter flat four-cylinder engine, while the WRX has a turbocharged version of the engine that produces 271 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The BRZ is good for a sprint to 60 MPH in 5.5 seconds and boasts a top speed of 140 MPH, which is limited by a speed governor. The WRX is good for a sprint to 60 MPH in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 145 MPH, making both of these cars fun and active on the road or track.
Subaru fun stands out big
The new 2026 Subaru Series.Yellow special edition cars will easily stand out against the sea of black, gray, and white cars on the road. These two sports cars look fun and should be exciting to drive everywhere. Using the tS trim is a stroke of genius because it gives drivers the top trim while also keeping the manual transmission alive and well in a special edition sports car.
Pricing hasn’t been announced for these special models yet, but with production limited to only 350 units each, expect them to be sold quickly. The excitement is on and soon we should see yellow Subaru sports cars on many roads around the country. Will you be one of the few drivers lucky enough to enjoy some time behind the wheel of one of these 2026 Subaru Series.Yellow special edition cars?
