2019 Audi RS5 Sportback
The four-door coupe begins to flood the market, and that is why Audi comes with RS5 Sportback, an all-new model in the lineup and the seventh Audi Sport model, sharing the same design as the RS7 Sportback. It gets all the signals typical of inner and outer RS but is supported by 2.9 liter, Biturbo factory borrowed from Porsche Panamera. It can hit 60 mph faster than the BMW 650i or Mercedes CLS500 and do it well in the process. Based on RS 5 Coupe, the Sportback should rule somewhere around $ 80,000 when it goes on sale in the second half of 2018.

Audi RS5 Sportback is a viewer, even though you are not very interested in the overall design of the “four-door coupe”. And to be honest, this thing is actually a hatchback, so technically a five-door vehicle, but still competing in the department that looks with models like the Mercedes CLS and BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe. The front is dominated by a large grille, one frame and a large angle, both of which get honeycomb RS hive, while the hood adds a bit of aggressiveness. Furthermore, the body is actually an inch wider than the RS5 Coupe, and it really looks when you see it directly.
The side profile is very eccentric. Of course, it has the sharpest body lines you’d expect from a sports car and a steep roof on the back, but it has four doors that are somehow proportioned right even though the back door is a bit smaller. Beltline has a slight curve to it while the mirror sits slightly farther back than expected. Finally, the lower body line protruding slightly from the tilted body in a way that provides a tidy appearance treatment from the side, despite the aggressive roofline. It’s also where you can see it a bit lower, which comes at 7 mm or 0.28 inches lower than the RS5 Coupe.
Around the back, the fifth door is very clear if you follow the jagged edge of what will be the back decklid further up the pillar toward the glass – you can not miss a large layer on the roof. The roof corner is designed in a way that lets you see large glass panels on the roof as well. A small carbon fiber lip is located on the rear edge of the fifth door. And this is where Audi’s design skills really shine because the rear end has a real sculpted look with the rear lights sitting inside inside the concave section above the rear fascia. An aggressive diffuser continues below, where a dual drain and a bit of carbon fiber offset a thin red reflector.
Needless to say, the RS5 Sportback is a very sporty car, especially for something with four doors on the side, but not everything about body style – there’s a lot going on inside too.

What is arguably the most important feature of the interior is the fact that, despite the infinite beveled roof, there is still seating for five passengers. The front passenger gets the S Sport seat with headrests arising while the rear passengers get a stool of sorts with seats at each end giving enough support on the sides. They also have hexagonal stitching patterns with body color stitching while the center of the seat sits slightly higher with a double backrest as the armrests are tied when the seat remains empty.
The front of the vehicle is dominated by carbon fiber trim on the front of the dashboard, center console, steering wheel, and gearshifters, while the typical Audi floating screen offers special graphics for the RS. Like chairs, steering wheel wrapped in leather, perforated, and held together with colored stitching. It is a flat base unit with aggressive back slopes. Sitting in front of the wheel is a standard Audi instrument cluster, but you can choose a virtual cockpit with dedicated RS graphics. Alcantara and carbon fiber adorn the door, while the stainless steel pedal fits with various trim pieces throughout the cabin.
The last detail relates to the cargo space, which one would assume comes with a premium price (like rear backroom) because of its steep roof, but Audi also thinks about it. Automakers have not revealed special volume figures, but the backseat folds down which would, assuming, provide at least double the cargo space rather than the one with those upright. It may look the role of family car in terms of basic shape, but do not be confused, this is an all-out sports car to go through.

Just like the RS5 Coupe, Sportback gets its motivation from 2.9 liter, Biturbo, V-6. This is the same engine that drives the PorschePanamera and is rumored to be offered in the new entry-level Audi R8, but is tuned to deliver 444 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque – four horsepower and 38 pound-feet more than you’ll get with the Panamera. The shift of duty comes from an eight-speed Audi car without manual transmission words so far, but it delivers power to all four wheels through the AWD Quattro system. The torque is split between the front and back with a 40:60 bias, which should lead to some interesting and interesting driving characteristics when you actually fit into it.
Audi claims that the Sportback can reach 60 mph in “less than four seconds,” which will put it somewhere about 3 seconds faster than the BMW 650i Gran Coupe and as much as one second faster than the Mercedes CLS500. The top speed is set at 155 mph, but if you choose Dynamic package, Audi will raise the electronic limiter up to 174 mph. For what it costs, Audi says these performance figures are conservative so it can actually be faster in the right conditions with the right driver.
As mentioned earlier, the suspension has been lowered by 0.28 inches compared to the coupe, and the body is one inch wider, so it will handle sharply when needed. However, if you want more, you can splurge on a sports suspension with dynamic driving controls that will allow you to adjust the suspension based on your specific needs at that time. As for the driver help feature, there are some if you really want to give some control of the car like this, but you need options things like traffic sign recognition, active cruise control, and lane keep assist, but who really want it in something which is sporty like this – it’s meant to be ridden, so we suggest you drive it like you stole it.
2019 Audi RS5 Sportback Price
The price for the RS5 Sportback remains a mystery but will be revealed before it goes on sale later this year. Based on the Audi price structure that has A5 $ 42,800, S5 at $ 54,600, Cabriolet S5 at $ 62,300, and RS5 Coupe for $ 69,900, it is safe to assume that the RS5 Sportback can be sold for $ 80,000.
