Kia Stinger resembles that would be a true competitor of execution; we anticipate driving one.
With Stinger, Kia enters new territory for Korean brands. This is meant to be a great touring car, Kia said, with a continental style and rigorous road testing at the challenging Nurburgring racing track in Germany.
It was the intoxicating language of a brand that only flirts with a truly-oriented sporting vehicle, but it’s been a long time coming. Stinger borrowed much of the long-running GT Kia concept, which debuted in 2011 but has been updated several times later.

2018 Kia Stinger Powertrain is sport-oriented
Under its long hood, turbo-4 or 3.3-liter turbo-4 V-6 powered four-cylinder Stinger. 4 cylinders rated at 255 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, the latter coming at just 1400 rpm. The V-6, meanwhile, comes with an impressive 365-hp and 376 pound-feet power. Kia says the V-6 will run up to 60 mph in about 5 seconds, which is fast but sounds conservative.
An eight-speed automatic gearbox will be the only one offered. This is an in-house unit that is shared with the K900 car sedan and will include a pair of paddle shifters mounted behind the wheel.
Beneath it, the Stinger rides with a 114.4-inch wheelbase, which stretches slightly longer than potential competitors such as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the Lexus IS, and the BMW 3-Series. Overall, it’s over 190 inches from head to toe – a figure that regains dwarf its rivals. This is not the much-anticipated ultra compact rear-wheel drive sedan from Kia, but the price point is likely to weaken its European, Asian and American rivals.
All-wheel drive will be available at Stinger, but the mechanical slip differential on the rear-drive model talks with the athletic mission of the sedan. Stinger’s front suspension consists of MacPherson struts in front and a multi-link setup at the rear. The V-6 model will include four-piston front brakes supplied by Brembo.
Stinger will also come with an adaptive damper, the first for Kia, and a drive select button that can change the throttle response and shift patterns. The electric steering setup installed on the shelf has been tuned to produce more street nuance than we would normally experience in other Kias-something that can help it stand out in the field of competition with a lot of brand loyalty.

2018 Kia Stinger Complete package
This is the form of Stinger that Kia is expected to attract buyers.
The long pouch and chisel went back into the blaring windshield and the rear athletic rear that underlined the car’s rear design. It’s pretty clean and simple in detailing, which is meant not to reduce the side profile.
The channel saw several European cars, especially Maseratis and Alfa Romeos, but appeared unlike facsimiles from anything from the supercar soil.
Inside, the nappa’s skin, thick leather-wrapped leather steering wheel, and a large metallic gauge speak with Stinger’s fancy mission. Among the gauges are color screens that can be configured to display performance data such as g-force cornering and lap times.
The Stinger infotainment system looks like a tablet mounted on its dashboard, a very popular display among German brands. Below the screen sits a trio of round climate control gauges.
At Stinger’s central stadium, it will feature the latest version of the car maker infotainment system and the existing 1520-speaker 720-watt audio system branded by Harman / Kardon.
Front and rear seats have plenty of legroom, although with the fastback form, rear passengers are asked to do with a little headroom to make room for a sleek profile.
In terms of safety, Stinger will be offered with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, fixed line assist, and even fatigue sensors that alert alert when detecting a weary driver. Customizable head-up display systems with altitude will also be on the options list.
