2018 Ford C-max Energi Reviews
C-MAX is a compact MPV sold by Ford for the last 14 years. This car is growing very rapidly since it was first launched with the latest version to be one of the better cars in its class. However, released in 2009, the car is currently not really up to date. Ford will continue to sell the full-electric version of the current model until 2018 but only in the US.
Both the US and European markets are expected to receive a new model with the 2018 Ford C-MAX that will carve out regular gas-powered engines. Looks like the full electric model will no longer be available because Ford will release a new lineup of all electric cars.
Ford C-Max comes in two flavors: the C-Max Hybrid and the C-Max Energy plug-in hybrid. The high hatchback body style offers a more practical alternative to Ford Fusion Hybrid and Energy plug-in hybrid sedans.

2018 Ford C-max Design
The ongoing model is based on an outgoing but changed Focus to look a bit more family oriented. The upcoming 2018 Ford C-MAX will more than likely follow the same recipe as its predecessor. Expect to get a front end that is very similar to the new Focus but expects a larger window, the possibility of a longer and flat roof and a more vertical rear. This will allow Ford to maximize interior space without damaging the way cars drive.
2018 Ford C-MAX Interior
So far it looks like C-MAX can accept cabins that are identical to Focus. The dashboard will surely be inspired by the new Fiesta with a pop-up center screen, a minimalist middle stack and a blue instrument cluster.
However, the C-MAX may get some changes to the seating layout as it is higher than the Focus and should boast more headroom and leg room than its hatchback siblings. In terms of features and safety options on the other side of the car will definitely be identical with the Focus.
2018 Ford C-max Overview
Ford refreshes the C-Max hatchback model for 2017 models, so we expect the 2018 model to run with just a few revisions (we’ll update this space as soon as we have official info). Ford C-Max Hybrid front and Ford C-Max Energy powered by the same powertrains with hybrid sedan hybrid and energy plug-in hybrid models. In the 2017 model, power comes from 2.0-liter 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle I-4 mated to permanent magnet synchronous and e-CVT motors. Ford rated the gasoline engine at 141 hp and 129 lb-ft of torque, and an electric motor rated at 35 kW peak power. Combined power rated 188 hp.
The biggest difference between the two models is on the lithium-ion battery pack. The C-Max Hybrid has a 1.4 kWh battery, while C-Max Energy uses a larger 7.6 kWh battery. The 2017 C-Max Hybrid is EPA-rated 42/38/40 mpg city / highway / combined. For comparison, C-Max Energy has a 95 mpg-e range with electric modes only 20 miles and 39 mpg in hybrid mode.
2018 Ford C-max Engine and Performance
The upcoming 2018 Ford C-MAX will be more than just accentuating Ford’s turbocharged engine and that’s it. A hybrid may be released at some point in the future but this is still unknown at this point. The European market will receive several more machines than the US market. A 1.0-liter EcoBoost with 100 or 125 horsepower is expected to be the basic offering. In the US, the car is likely to receive a 125 horsepower version of the same engine. Both of these will also be available with a 6 speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive.
The higher end version of the C-MAX will be more than getting the new Ford EcoBoost 1.5 liter Ford or their new 1.5 liter diesel. The gasoline engine will be able to drive about 150 to 180 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque slightly above 180. Diesel on the other hand is expected to offer 95 or more than 120 horsepower. Both of these are expected to be available with a new 6 speed manual or automatic 9 speed Ford recently released. The all-wheel drive system, probably from the Focus RS, has also been rumored but Ford has decided to remain silent about it.
