2018 Buick Lacrosse Colors Specs Reviews

The 2018 Buick LaCrosse is the flagship, a smooth and comfortable sedan with just a few quirks.

A quiet and polished sedan, the 2018 Buick LaCrosse offers a full-sized room with no yacht-like driving experience. It offers many powerful reasons for passing a much more expensive luxury car thanks to its subtle personality, attractive style, and a new hybrid light powertrain.

LaCrosse, available on base, Preferred, Essence, and Premium trim levels, saw a number of changes for 2018 after being redesigned last year. A new hybrid powertrain is now installed as standard. It pairs a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder to an electric motor charged by a small lithium-ion battery. Unlike complete hybrids-let’s say, the Toyota Avalon Hybrid-the LaCrosse can not drive by power alone. Instead, the system provides a fuel-efficient boost. The 3.6 liter V-6 engine, brought from last year, is now optional, but is now mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission instead of 8 last year’s speed. In addition to 2018, Buick has made all-wheel drive available at a slimmer level.

While there are many new things this year, the fundamentals of LaCrosse have not changed. This is a Buick mainstay sedan, a large four-door with space for five full-size adults and its equipment-at least for short tasks, because the backseat is not as good as it could be. But do not think of LaCrosse as a spiritual successor to ships like the Roadmasters in the past. The lights are on top of a large car and offer a great driving experience, coupled with high-tech features like sophisticated infotainment systems and a variety of active safety technologies.

2018 Buick Lacrosse Styling

LaCrosse works most noticeably smaller than the dimensions that should be suggested thanks to a generally slender look. The protruding grille in front gives way to the sweeping rear lights. Around him, the wide thighs of LaCrosse gave the appearance of a muscle that could almost indicate that the car was rear-not a front-wheel drive. At the tail, a pair of lights neatly wrapped around it by pulling from the fenders into the trunk. Just a fake counterfeit trio integrated into the front fender of LaCrosse that disappointed him.

Inside, LaCrosse is clean and almost unadorned with its high center console and almost symmetrical dashboard. Controls are grouped together with no excess buttons or buttons, which helps simplify the experience. Large LCD screens on the instrument cluster offer a lot of information, though not well integrated as we’ve seen in some rivals.

One asset to LaCrosse is the diverse interior nuances available in most models, including colors from cold to warm to pitch black.

2018 Buick Lacrosse Performance

The powerful V-6 engine makes Buick LaCrosse fun to drive.
The 2018 Buick LaCrosse is now offered in several flavors, ranging from mild to non-wild.

What we have not controlled is the new lightweight LaCrosse hybrid powertrain, which the automaker called eAssist. This year, the standard is in all LaCrosses front wheel drive. eAssist is a Buick-speak for 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that is paired to an electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery. Unlike full hybrid setup, LaCrosse eAssist can not be driven solely on electrical power. Instead, the electric motors and batteries give a little push to save fuel and add grunt. The system is rated at 194 lightweight clear horsepower and 187 pound-feet of torque and is exclusively mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

After getting our hands on LaCrosse with a new eAssist powertrain, we will update this space with our impression.
Optional on all but the basic LaCrosse – and standard with all wheel drive – is a 3.6 liter V-6 carryover rated 310 hp and 268 lb-ft. This year, it mated with a new 9 speed automatic than the last 8 years. Again, we have not moved in 2018, but last year’s model provided powerful strength from any speed, even with full loads of passengers on board.

What does not change is the rigid chassis of LaCrosse and the fast and accurate steering. This is not a sports car, but it can be driven over a curved road with confidence. LaCrosse comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, but 20s is an option and they are paired with user-adjustable suspension variables that can tighten or soften when pressing a button. In our tests we found a basic suspension and 18 inch wheels to provide the best ride and handling balance, but you’ll want to try it before signing on the dashed line.

Thanks to a very lethal sound, LaCrosse is very calm even on the famous water sidewalk with the loud noise we experienced while driving early in the Pacific Northwest.

2018 Buick Lacrosse Comfort & Quality

Buick LaCrosse is not as safe as possible, but it’s done and has big luggage.

The 2018 Buick LaCrosse finishes with high standards in it, but its rear seat does not offer sufficient stretch space for some of its main rivals.

Both front-seat eight-way power-adjustable on all LaCrosse versions. The basic trim and options are played with a convincing skin, while all the other trim levels feature perforated skin. The premium model goes even further with four-way lumbar and massage features for the front seats. All models are durable, yet turn on the massage and heating function and you may not want to leave the driver’s throne. This is not the same story behind. The low roof cuts to the headroom and leg room did not quite match some rivals, although there was at least a thickness of hips and shoulders for three adults to use all the available space.

The LaCrosse’s 15.0 cubic feet are not too big for its class, but are well shaped with large holes. There’s better storage space in it, especially at the bottom of the high center console, which can hold your wallet or tablet.
All the models feel pretty stylish inside with lots of soft plastic, but the choice of leather tones of the earth on LaCrosses with high specs is very beautiful. Only a few matte-finish plastic panels scattered around the center console serve as a reminder that LaCrosse is unappreciated as the original luxury car brand offerings are similar.

2018 Buick Lacrosse Safety

The Buick LaCrosse is close to experiencing every crash test, but we hope some of the advanced technology is available at a lower price point.
The 2018 Buick LaCrosse has performed very well in crash tests, but unfortunately the automaker is restricting advanced security technology only at the top trim level.
We have given LaCrosse an above-average three points for his strong performances at IIHS and NHTSA testing.

Only LaCrosse Premium can be ordered with Driver Confidence Package 2, which includes adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. And automakers even restrict blind spot monitors and cross-traffic traffic alerts only with Essence and Premium models.
Given that many half-price LaCrosse cars are now becoming standard with this technology, it is surprising that Buick forced buyers to spend more than $ 10,000 on LaCrosse start prices to get automatic emergency braking.
