A games auto with a more reasonable body, the 2018 Cadillac ATS-V is the best American method.

Cadillac ATS-V is based on AT89S Cadillac 2018 which is already unfortunate and, like more pedestrian models, this car is offered as a two-door coupe and four-door sedan. But a close look and ATS-V provide a clearer visual presence with an athletic and muscular appearance and muscular vaulted hood. The widened fender and aero-oriented body kit distinguish it even further. The optional Sporty Recaro seats inside complete the display with a dash of functions. At least, ATS-V is far from the last Cadillac Eldorados.

There are many muscles under the ATS-V hood to support its appearance: a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V-6 equipped with 464 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of widespread torque. All that power goes into the rear wheels through the choice of automatic fastener or 8 speed, rejoice! – 6 speed manual.

All in, it is a hoot for the drive, but also very smooth. This is a German luxury sedan done because only Detroit can do-and in many ways, it beats its competitors.

2018 Cadillac ATS-V Styling

With the coupe and sedan having their own front and rear fasci, something we expect from a sporty model. But what’s really different here is that they have also widened the fenders that give more presence. Aero-oriented body kits provide a more refined look that is matched by large 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in performance rubber.

Inside, the immediate difference is a pair of Recaro thrones for front seat occupants, but pay close attention and you will find unique trim pieces as well.

2018 Cadillac ATS-V Performance

The powerful twin-turbo V-6 couples to the balanced and entertaining chassis.
Although the 2018 Cadillac ATS-V V-6 share displacement figures with topping range engines are available on standard ATS, it’s safe to say that they do not have much in common.

It’s okay with us, because ATS-V provides fast fast acceleration – and has the appropriate chassis. We’ve rated some above-average points for the powerful V-6, good transmissions, nice steering shades, and, of course, its fun.
Below its vertical line is a structural enhancement built on the ATS standard to help tighten. There is a brace that extends from the tower to the pleno, the more rigid rocker barriers, the enhanced subframe braces, and the less experienced buffer.

The core of this animal with its twin-turbo, 3.6-liter V-6, rated at 464 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. It provides a powerful acceleration of any speed, with a fun enthusiast to match the 0-60 mph sprint of 3.8 seconds. Of course, ATS-V harnesses its power with a balanced chassis and excellent steering. Its 6-speed manual is a joy to paddle through its gate, but the 8-speed automatic option operates almost telepathically. We are traditionalists and will stick with sticks, but automatic is not a compromise here.

Underneath, ATS-V uses a specially tailored sport suspension with a magnetic damper that reacts quickly to changes in road surface.
A complement of the performance technology is onboard: launch control, Brembo brakes, Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and rear differential limited electronic slip. For those who want a little more, Performance Package includes a fuel-efficient (and really cool) fuel exterior trim plus a performance data recording system that utilizes cameras and multiple sensors for drivers to review their track experience later on.

The data recorder and magnetic damper are trickle down technology from Chevy Corvette, and it’s okay with us.

2018 Cadillac ATS-V Comfort & Quality

The ATS-V interior is nice and comfortable, if not too roomy, for a sporty compact.

Building on the luxurious interior of the well-equipped ATS Cadillac 2018, ATS-V adds some nice styling upgrades for the upscale feel.
The front seats are enough to grip the basic model, but choose the Recaro brand seat available and you are practically in a racing car. Unlike some of Recaro’s thrones, those on ATS-V are not too restrictive for various bodies. The rear seats, on the other hand, remain as narrow as the basic ATS. And the problem is really coupled with the coupe, but that’s what you get with two doors.

At the front of the material, a bit of cheap plastic that can be fitted is a challenge to find. Our only warning is that black is the only choice of interior – and can feel a bit of a coal mine – like on a long journey.

2018 Cadillac ATS-V is built on a well-equipped ATS car with some performance-oriented features. It’s not cheap, but it weakens its rival in Germany and there is no silly six-digit version for those who need bragging rights. The latest version of CUE brand infotainment is standard and includes Apple CarPlay. GM’s OnStar system with 4G LTE antennas and wi-fi hotspots are also prominent. CUE is not always as intuitive as we might like, but recent improvements continue to make it better. Do not compare the 2018 ATS-V with a model that is several years old.

A number of packages are offered, our favorite being the Carbon Black group which is expensive. It adds several bits of styling of classy fibers, steering wheel suede and lever movers, and Recaro seating.
